Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation organisation.  Founded in 1962 as the Derbyshire Naturalists’ Trust, we have been protecting the county’s wildlife and wild places ever since.  We are part of The Wildlife Trusts, a 47-strong partnership of Trusts throughout the UK.

Our vision is for Living Landscapes rich in wildlife, valued by everyone.

Our mission is to protect wildlife, restore biodiversity and to inspire people about nature in Derbyshire.

The Trust

  • Manages 41 nature reserves throughout the county, covering 1557 acres/630 hectares of land including woodland, wetland and meadow areas.

  • Runs walks, talks and events throughout the year – there’s something for everyone.

  • Manages a Register of Local Wildlife sites in the county.

  • Advises local authorities and landowners on conservation issues.

  • Runs an extensive environmental education programme for schools.

  • Has more than 14,400 members, eight active local groups and seven Wildlife Watch groups (for younger members)

  • Produces a range of publications, from fact sheets and leaflets to a book on wildlife gardening and a Wildlife Walks book.

We are delighted to be working with Absolute Networks and encourage all local businesses to make use of this great, free service.
